Nothing you haven't heard from me before As POGGE points out, Jack Layton is entirely capable of being a moron. Had he become the leader of the NDP twenty years ago, no doubt prairie right-wingers would have found a friend on the vital issues of the day, such as Sikhs in the Legion and the RCMP. Canada filled with disappointment and pain The UN has published its annual Human Development Index ratings, and it turns out Canada is only the fourth-best place in the world to live. We may be comforted in our meagre existences of quiet desperation, however, to learn that what put Iceland, the winner, over the top was its score on the Bjork Scale - Iceland scored an impressive 0.32 Bjorks per 100,000 population, compared to Canada's disappointing 0.00. Also, a lot of our native population lives in staggering poverty, and our life expectancy is dropping because some of our citizens are dying through playing whack-a-mole with the Taliban. So, you know, fourth isn't bad. Comment Sunday, November 11, 2007
